Park Renovations
Updated as of December 2025
Funded by Proposition 68 State Park grants and District Funds, a Phase 1 renovation of the park's Activity House (AH) began late-September 2023 and concluded mid-December 2023. This important work included a complete replacement of the AH roof and substantial amounts of decayed roof decking with a new, energy-efficient membrane roof with insulation. In addition new gutters and downspouts, and new exterior lighting were installed. Finally, the entire AH building exterior received a much needed new paint job.
Phase 2 AH improvements have also been completed. A new energy-efficient heat-pump HVAC system was installed in March 2024, a new hot-water heater installed in April, and double-glazed window replacements were completed in May 2024. Kitchen and other AH infrastructure renovations are under consideration for future improvements.
Beyond the AH, the District also completed renovation of the park stage in December 2022, and in early 2025 completed a new drainage system, re-roofing and gutter system, and re-staining of the park's charming gazebo structure. This work was largely funded by a generous community member. In late 2025 electrical power was restored to the gazebo using State Grant funds, and our generous community member funded an upgrade of the gutter system to beautiful copper.
Again funded by Proposition 68 State Park grants and District Funds, the District completed in April 2025 a substantial renovation of our East Restroom area including the restrooms themselves and the surrounding area. The restroom building was re-roofed, received new exterior and interior paint, and new motion sensor faucets and LED lighting were installed. A complete re-construction of walkways, staircases and a retaining wall was also accomplished, creating a new planting bed area. The planting bed and adjacent lawn areas were landscaped in June 2025 using District funds.
In October-November 2025 State grant funds supported a substantial overhaul of the park electical system, most notably a necessary complete replacement of the distribution panel in the large BBQ area. The West Restroom building also received some much-needed attention with a major repair and re-roof project, and installation of heated electric hand dryers in the restrooms. Painting of the West Restroom building will follow using District Funds.

The District Board hopes that these improvements will keep our Community Park the asset has been for over 30 years. Thank you for your support.
