The Park District area comprises approximately 2200 parcels in and around the Carmel Valley Village. There are roughly 4,600 residents living in this area. The original boundary for the park district was similar to the original boundary of the Carmel Valley Village Fire Protection District. Subsequently, that district merged with the Mid-Valley Fire Protection District and more recently these two districts merged with the Salinas Rural Fire Protection District.
